My students share some beautiful characteristics
Today, I’m taking a moment to express my admiration for my students and share these thoughts with you.
During the first lessons, I usually explore what my new students already know about the language. I ask questions to check their use of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation — and to see how confident and accurate they are when creating sentences. This helps me identify their proficiency and place their speaking skills within the CEFR framework.
Once we reach the question about their expectations for the future, something lights up. My students study English with a clear purpose: they’re following their dreams and working toward a better version of themselves. In other words, they’re creating their own path and taking action toward who they want to become. This is what inspires me to teach English.
After the first class, another quality I deeply admire always begins to appear — their flexibility of mind. As the lessons progress, they show the courage to become learners again, accepting that mistakes are part of the process and that improvement always lies ahead. This speaks of their desire for growth, their grit, and their perseverance. After all, we become what we repeat.
They’ve made the decision to step outside their comfort zone, ready to embrace new experiences and absorb new knowledge. Every day brings a new topic to explore, and they continue to discover that they’re capable of more than they thought. They stay on the path, trust the process, and enjoy the journey.
They might not always notice this, but I see them — and I admire them. They deserve to know it.
Keep up the great work.
